Yoga For Paddlers | Short and Sweet Side Body Stretch

Well…its that time of year again. For those of us on the east coast, it is Gauley season, which means a downriver play-aganza. So many wave trains and rocks to play with, not to mention waves and holes to catch and surf on the fly all day long.. Friday through Monday that is.

Spending the last three weeks in Fayetteville, WV, I was lucky enough to get some time not only on the Gauley, but also on the New River Gorge and the New River Dries, thanks to Stephen Wright and his stalking of water levels!

Paddling the Gauley, New and the Dries has meant trying loads of different playboating moves: cartwheels, bowstalls, splats, flatwater McNastys, Macho Moves, and of course, Loops and Blunts on the various play stations. What this really translates to is my body being sore and tired! Here is a short video showing one of my favorite stretches to target the hip, IT band, psoas and side body: the rolling, blunting, everything muscles.
